Overview
I maintain a home lab that runs self-hosted services for myself, family, and friends. It’s where I learn about Linux, networking, and systems engineering while providing real, day-to-day value.
What I Run
- Media: Jellyfin
- Networking & privacy: AdGuard, Tailscale
- Dashboards & monitoring: Homarr, Uptime Kuma
- Other: game servers and experimental containers as needed
My Role
- Configure and maintain services using Docker and docker-compose.
- Manage updates, backups, and basic security.
- Troubleshoot networking issues and remote access problems.
- Monitor uptime and resource usage.
Tools & Technologies
- Software: Linux, Docker, docker-compose
- Networking: local router/firewall, DNS, Tailscale
- Skills: system administration, debugging, automation
What I Learned
- Practical Linux administration and service deployment.
- How to structure a small system so that it’s maintainable long-term.
- How to balance experimentation with reliability when others rely on the services.
