This guide is specifically for Dell Latitude 5400 to uninstall Linux and reinstall Windows 10.
Download Windows 10 Installation Media
- Visit the Windows 10 download page.
- Select “Create Windows 10 installation media”.
Create a Bootable USB
- Plug in a USB flash drive.
- Run the downloaded
MediaCreationTool_22h2.exe
. - Choose “Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC”.
- Edition: Windows 10
- Architecture: 64-bit
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
- Eject the USB drive when done.
Boot from USB
- Ensure the laptop is off, then insert the USB drive.
- Power on the Dell Latitude 5400 and immediately press
F2
repeatedly to enter BIOS settings. - In BIOS, navigate to
Settings > General > Boot Sequence
.- Move UEFI: SanDisk (or your USB drive) to the top of the Boot Sequence.
- Click Apply and exit BIOS.
Install Windows 10
- The Windows Setup should start automatically.
- Click Next, then Install Now.
- Select “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)“.
- Delete all existing partitions. For guidance, follow this video.
- Proceed with the installation.
Complete Setup
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up Windows 10.
